Belgrade Airport: Practice and training for 138 high school students

Belgrade Airport continues to provide support for dual education and internship programs for pupils and students, so during the 2025/2026 school year, a total of 138 students of the fourth grade of the High school Aviation Academy will be educated at the Nikola Tesla Airport.
Specifically, as part of the Dual education program, during this school year, two classes with a total of 47 students of the Air Traffic Technician educational profile stay starting from November 19 twice a week at the Airport's Operations and Control Center, where they have the opportunity to learn about the management of airport resources, the planning of parking positions for airplanes, the processes of assigning gates and baggage carousels, and will accompany the procedures of deploying check-in counters for passengers to register for flights and buses on the platform. This program will last until May next year, and the expected length of the students' stay at the airport is six school hours weekly.
At the same time, as part of the student practice program, students from four classes with a total of 91 of them are on the practice once a week during the entire school year. Students of four educational profiles: Information and communication systems security technician in air traffic, Air traffic rescue technician, Air traffic safety technician and Aviation mechatronics technician, will perform their internship in several organizational units of Belgrade Airport - ITT, Rescue and fire protection, Security and Maintenance. They will be able to familiarize themselves with the practices and ways that these services apply in their work, to get to know the functioning of the ITT systems, to accompany the firefighting training, as well as the work of the Counter-diversion control and Security services, Service of Maintenance of transport systems and air bridges.
The program of Dual education and pupils practice, as a model of secondary professional education, has been implemented for four years in a row at the Nikola Tesla Airport with students of the fourth grade of the High school Aviation Academy. In the previous three school years, a total of 152 students attended dual education, and 218 student internships, which proves that the Belgrade Airport company, in addition to investing in modernization, also invests in the future of the education system, the knowledge of young people, their skills and opportunities that they can apply in future work.
