Nikola Tesla Airport handled 4.2 million passengers in the first half of 2026

Belgrade Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, continued the strong trend of traffic growth in the first half of 2026, during which 4.2 million passengers were handled at Nikola Tesla Airport, representing an increase of 7.2 percent compared to the same period last year. Thanks to the developed flight network, increased capacity and high load factors, Nikola Tesla Airport further strengthens its position as a leading regional aviation hub.
During the second quarter of this year, Belgrade airport further improved Serbia's connection with European and intercontinental destinations. In the second quarter, a total of 2.4 million passengers were handled, which confirms the trust that passengers and airlines have in Belgrade Airport. As a reminder, a record 118 destinations are available to teh passengers during this summer season, with nine new routes added, including a direct flight between Belgrade and Toronto.
In order to respond to the growing needs of passengers and support the further development of air traffic in Serbia, Belgrade Airport will continue to invest in the development of infrastructure and improvement of the quality of services. Currently, works are underway on the expansion of the terminal Pier C of the airport complex, where three new gates, three new passenger boarding bridges and four new aircraft parking stands will be added. In addition, activities aimed at increasing the capacity of the terminal, improving operational efficiency, developing the commercial offer and further improving passenger comfort are continuing.
At VINCI Airports network, the airports handled a total of 159 million passengers during the first half of 2026, which reflects the network’s strong geographic diversification and its resilience in the face of short-term markets disruptions.
