The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia visited the terminal expansion works

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Đuro Macut, visited today the works on the expansion of the Belgrade Airport terminal as part of a visit to companies that operate in the aviation sector.

The latest works on the expansion of Belgrade Airport terminal include the construction of three new gates, three new passengers boarding bridges, and four new parking spaces. These works are part of the Belgrade Airport's continuous investments in the modernization and increase of the capacity of Nikola Tesla Airport, but at the same time they are part of the preparation for the increased number of passengers and flights expected during EXPO 2027.
 

"Nikola Tesla Airport today represents one of the leading regional aviation centers and a recognizable symbol of the development of modern Serbia. The opening of three new gates and air bridges represent an important step in the further improvement of its capacities, especially bearing in mind the continuous growth in the number of passengers and the important role that the airport will play in connecting international EXPO 2027 exhibition with the world. Further development of the infrastructure and network of destinations will further strengthen Serbia's international connectivity," said Prime Minister Macut.
 

The Prime Minister's visit was attended by Aleksandra Sofronijević, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, as well as the directors of Air Serbia, Nikola Tesla Airport JSC, Civil Aviation Directorate and Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services, while Miodrag Mirković, Belgrade Airport Chief Commercial Officer highlighted the results of the VINCI Airports concession.

"The major investment cycle in the development of Nikola Tesla Airport began eight years ago, with the beginning of the concession, and since then more than EUR360 million have been invested in the development of the airport. Belgrade Airport, as a part of VINCI Airports, will continue to invest in Nikola Tesla Airport and strengthen its position as a modern and reliable regional hub," said Mirković.
